Best Places for the Perfect Engagement

Getting engaged to be married is an important milestone in your life. It's one that you and your spouse will remember and tell stories about for the rest of your life. This is why it is particularly important that you make your engagement special by choosing the right place.

A Weekend Getaway to a Romantic Spa in the Mountains

There is nothing more romantic than going away for the weekend with just the two of you. Why not combine a luxury weekend with a spa, with a romantic destination like beautiful mountain ranges where the two of you can go hiking and enjoy nature. Or if the mood strikes you and everything goes well you could just spend the weekend in the hotel room enjoying each other's company and ordering room service.

If you want a truly romantic engagement that your future spouse will never forget, a day relaxing and enjoying a mud bath followed by a relaxing massage at the gorgeous spa you are both staying at is the best way to do it. Take advantage of as many of the amenities of the spa as you can. After a day of relaxation and romance take your partner to a scenic location and propose to them under the stars. Perhaps the two of you could go on a short hike or spend some time out on the balcony of your hotel room. There is nothing more beautiful or romantic than proposing outside under the stars.

A Hip, Upscale Restaurant

A more traditional and no less romantic idea is to take your future spouse out on a special date at a hip, upscale restaurant. Choose a place that is nice and suits your taste. You don't have to pick a place that is well out of your budget to impress your date, but somewhere new and different is sure to impress. If you pick somewhere that the two of you have always wanted to go, you know you will both enjoy the food and the experience. The rest of the evening is sure to take care of itself. A good idea is to pick a place that has some light entertainment, such as a comedy show, cabaret, or a band. After you eat, make sure you order a bottle of champagne and surprise your date with the ring you have picked out.

If you like, you can hide the ring in dessert or have the water bring out the ring at the end of dinner. But be cautious that your date doesn't bite into the ring or it will spoil the surprise. With careful planning and the right restaurant, this will be an event that the two of you will talk about for the rest of your life.

Where you Went on Your First Date

Ultimately what will make your engagement special is that it is meaningful to you. A great simple proposal story can be just as good as going away for a romantic weekend or planning an elaborate surprise with doves and your future spouse's entire family. These are great ideas if you want to try them, but a simple dinner where you had your first date, a stroll through your favorite park or drinks and dancing at the bar where you met are also great options. If it is meaningful to you and your spouse that it is ultimately all that matters.

Of course, no matter how or where you propose, the key to a perfect proposal is to pick the right ring from a selection of classic engagement rings that is as beautiful as your future spouse. Once you have the right ring finding the perfect location will be a breeze. No matter whether you decide to go somewhere meaningful to the two of you, to a trendy upscale restaurant, or on a romantic weekend getaway, your engagement story is sure to be memorable.
