Snipes Farm and Education Center is excited to announce the receipt of a $5,000 grant from Dominion Energy Charitable Foundation. Jonathan Snipes, Executive Director of Snipes Farm and Education Center commented, “This generous grant from Dominion Energy is transformational in our ability to provide life-changing summer camp experiences to children in need, especially children whose families live in the local homeless shelter. Our camp is a refuge and safe harbor for homeless and low-income children in the midst of uncertainty and trauma.”

“We are proud for the fifth consecutive year to support Snipes Farm and Education Center’s summer camp program,” says Robert Sauer, Director of Dominion Energy’s Fairless Power Station, located in Fairless Hills, PA. “This two-week program allows low-income children a great opportunity to take part in a variety of hands-on learning activities such as gardening and cooking fresh, healthy foods that will help them learn how to make better food choices and in turn lead to a healthier life.”

About Snipes Farm and Education Center
At Snipes Farm our mission is to model and teach sustainable farming, while building community and re-connecting people to the land. We envision a world where everyone has access to healthy food, open space and the experience of farming, where communities are strengthened by the preservation of small farms, and where priority is given to sustaining the earth and its natural resources.  Founded in 2008, as a 501(c)3 educational organization, our "outdoor classroom" is located in Morrisville, PA.  We believe that an individual’s experience with a working farm will increase his or her desire to protect the natural systems that support all life on our planet. The Snipes family, farming in Bucks County since 1688, offered the farm for our 501(c)3 nonprofit educational organization.
