The Doylestown 5K Race, part of the Bucks 5K Series We invite you to be part of the 2009 Doylestown Red, White & Blue 5K Run/Walk & One Mile Run/Walk which will take place on May 23, 2009 the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend at 10 am. This is the largest & most popular race of all the Panera Bread Bucks 5K seven race Series, which is celebrating its thirteenth year..

The proceeds from the 2009 race will benefit three non profit organizations: Doylestown Business Community Alliance, Bucks 4 Kids, and Our Lady of Mount Carmel School.

DOYLESTOWN BUSINESS & COMMUNITY ALLIANCE is composed of volunteers who help create the charm that is Doylestown Boro. They hang spring flower baskets on street lights & put up Holiday Decorations. These touches make strolling through Doylestown an enjoyable experience. Race proceeds will be used to defray these costs. DBCA has opened an office and hired paid staff (welcome Margie Adamsky) so it can serve the Boro even more, thanks to the hard work of President Rich Slabinski.

BUCKS 4 KIDS is a 501©(3) operated by an all volunteer board that raises money for Bucks County children in foster care & those who receive services through Children & Youth. Grants are provided for requests from the children themselves, for such necessary items as summer camp, music lessons & other extras. B4K's goal is to give foster kids a chance at normal. Last year, BFK awarded $12,000 scholarships to graduating seniors. The donation from the 2007 Doylestown 5K was enough to fund the development of B4K website, to be launched in June with the help of Elaine Paxson of Big World Design, Furlong.

OUR LADY OF MOUNT CARMEL SCHOOL is a parochial school of 500 students from kindergarten to eighth grade. All proceeds will go directly to the enhancement of educational programs for the children.
