Amy has really hit a home run with this restaurant. It is far and away our favorite place to go. The ever changing menu is always out of this world and second to none. We always feel welcome thanks to their friendly staff and never want to leave. I HIGHLY recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for that special place to share with a loved one.
From Laura of Buckingham (09/28/08)
The food IS very good at Honey. And it's an impressively sophisticated dining experience for Doylestown. However, it's not perfect. It's geared to a pretty sweet palate. The mixed drinks, while of a good strength, are almost too sweet to drink. One dipping sauce for the delicious sweet potato fries is too sweet while the other is too salty. I would say that a sophisticated menu has been adapted to a bourgeois palate. Also, it is a very showy menu--lots of exotica, more than a little pretentious. But, hey, it's a refreshing addition to the ubiquitous heavy-handed Italian offerings in the area.
From of Jamison (09/14/08)
We had dinner with some friends at Honey's a few weekends ago after reading all the rave reviews. We heartily agree with all the reviews---this place is fabulous and will definitely become one of our favorite restaurants! The flavor combinations, though they appear a bit weird on the menu, are quite incredible, innovative, and delicious. The black tea glazed spare ribs with the ginger ice cream, the sweet potato fries, the heirloom tomato salad, lamb skewers, pig in a blanket, and other plates were all excellent. The calamari was our least favorite, but still good--it just didn't wow us as much as the others. We didn't have dessert because we were having that at our house afterwards, but I'm planning to try it next time. The service was very good and the atmosphere was wonderful--we sat in a booth that had some sheer curtains for a bit of privacy. The place is small so you definitely want reservations, especially on the weekends. Do yourself a favor and try this place!

I have eaten at Honey several times and it has always been fabulous!! It is certainly my favorite restaurant in Bucks County. The service, food and decor are all top notch. The menu is always changing and never disappoints. Be sure to try the spare ribs served with spicy ice cream. It sounds like a crazy combination but it was sooo delicious together. Also, the tomato and feta salad is to die for!! We loved the white sangria and the cilantro mojito. I did find the mojito a bit strong, BUT, in a good way. If I'm paying $9 for a cocktail, I want to taste the booze. To address the previous comment, I'm in the restaurant business and adding more mixer to a drink is an easy fix. I would have done the same thing to try and make you happy. It is nice to see a place trying to give you your money's worth.

I went to Honey with friends the other night. The food was great but I ordered a drink that was too strong. The owner came over to see if she adjust the drink to my liking. I said no that I would just have something else. She was somewhat aggressive about being able to add something to the drink (I wasn't the only one who thought this) - it was a little weird. Otherwise, we loved the atmosphere and dinner.
From Brynne of Doylestown (07/12/08)
I heard so many great things about Honey and just had to try it myself. It really deserves all the praise it receives! The food is absolutely amazing, everything just melts in your mouth, including the salad. My favorite dish was the bacon wrapped lamb skewers. Although they are small plates, the portions are still a sharable decent size. My boyfriend and I shared 3 plates and were satisfied. Make sure you make reservations, as it was impossible to get a seat inside when we went.
From Cakesnake of Doylestown (06/21/08)
Everthing about Honey is fresh and exciting -- from the sophisticated, unpretentious decor, to its seasonally-changing menu offering a range of some of the most creative culinary combinations you've ever tasted, to the knowledgable, attentive, and friendly wait staff. It's truly an experience and has been seamlessly consistent across visits throughout the year. Well done, Honey, I give you 10 out of 10!
From Larry of Doylestown (06/04/08)
I've dined here several times and just love it. Everything from the food, service, ambience and even the "pace" of the meal is perfect. It's the best and most dependable spot in town. It can get pricy of you just order away at the small plates, but is resonable if you order selectively...
From of Quakertown, PA (05/19/08)
My husband and I went to Honey for Valentine's day. It certainly lived up to its reputation. The food was wonderful. Everything we ordered was cooked perfectly, the food was imaginative and yet very approachable. I would recommend Honey to anyone looking for a nice meal.
From Walt + Jean of Yardley (03/08/08)
What a refreshing change from the usual dining establishment. Great food, cozy atmosphere, freindly, attentive staff. This is an A+ experiance.

My wife and I tried Honey for the first time a few months ago, and we can't seem to stop going! In fact, we've started looking for excuses to go to Honey. Friends visiting? Let's take them to Honey! Parents in town? They'll love Honey! Where should we spend New Year's Eve? Honey, of course! The food is fantastic and innovative. Every small or large plate I've tried has been wonderful. Each visit for me must include at least one order of the melt-in-your-mouth Kobe Meatballs. Also, someone at the table has to order the Meat and Potatoes so I can steal some. The service is gregarious and knowledgeable and truly adds to the experience. The dining room, incorporating colors and decorations evocative of the restaurant's name as well as a very Bucks County feeling stone wall, provides a comforatble and romantic setting. Joe and Amy McAtee are talented restauranteurs, and you should try their product!

Excellent food, service and atmosphere.
From Billi of Doylestown (11/02/07)
We went to Honey for the first time last night. From start to finish everything was excellent. The co-owner at the door was adorable and professional, the service was efficient and pleasant and the food was phenomenal! This could very easily become our new favorite restaurant in Doylestown. The small plates were perfect for our group of three to share, we shared five. And the wine flights were great as a way to try the wines we were unfamiliar with, we loved the Chardonnay and usually are Pinot Grigio drinkers. The atmosphere was terrific, we had been to the restaurant that was at this location previously and were stunned at the complete overhaul the new owners have done, impeccable taste. Thank you Honey and your staff for such a wonderful dining experience, we will be back.
From JaneD of Newtown, PA (10/31/07)
I just came to post about our incredible experience at Honey last week. But first, to address the previous poster, don't let one or two $30 large plate prices scare you off from this place! It is amazing! And you can definitely get a very full (and delicious) meal just ordering small plates. It's just hard to decide which ones to get! (We still haven't reached the large plates section of the menu, but we'll get there!) Anyway, our experience - from the service to the food to the ambience of the restaurant - was THE BEST of anywhere we've been in recent memory. By far the best in the suburbs, that's for sure. Highly recommended. Definitely try the soups (SO delicious!), the salmon tartare, the calamari, the choc. chile creme brulee....I could go on and on! If you haven't been there yet, get there soon - while you can still get a reservation. We went on a Tues. and it was a full house.
From Laura of Perkasie (10/25/07)
I can't believe that so far, not one person has mentioned how expensive it is. The entrees are thirty dollars! We'd love to try it, but that's just out of our range right now. And to the person who complained about skate being too obscure, I have to say try it! Skate is a wonderful, underused, accessible fish. Not weird at all.
From Rich of Doylestown (09/30/07)
The service was great, from the hostess to the wait staff. If you're looking for something different and do not want to go into the city, this is the place. Best food in Doylestown! Would highly recommend it.
From Dave K. of Warminster (09/15/07)
Excellent! The food was phenomenal. The service was fantastic. It was so refreshing to have a waitress that was professional, friendly, and engaging. The ribs, sweet fries and meat & potato plates were sensational. The whole dinning experience was very enjoyable. Honey is surprisingly small inside although not cramped so, make reservations. Make sure to try the Sangria or Mojito.
From Mrs W. of Doylestown Boro (09/07/07)
A friend was visiting from San Diego last weekend, and we stopped in for lunch. She is a former resident of D-town and was really astounded at its gentrification and the choice of wonderful dining spots. We chose Honey, since I had never been there, and wanted to try someplace new. The food couldn't have been better! The gazpacho was supurb and our shared order of sweet fries with the amazing dipping sauces, outstanding. Coming from an urban area as she did, my friend was really impressed with the quality of the food; her choice was the salmon tacos. And, I will definitely bring my husband back to try the dinner menu.
From x. echo of new hope (09/04/07)
We love this place!! Not only is it gorgeous and the service wonderful, the food is INCREDIBLE!!! We have been there several times and it seems that the menu is always changing, even ever so slightly. Keeps us coming back for more! HIGHLY recommend to anyone in the area. This place could very well be successful in the city.
From Resident of Doylestown (08/08/07)
Let me say right up front that I have been here several times and I really love this place. Now for the bad news... The menu can be a little too obscure. Skate? Thank you, no. Also, you don't need to work honey into every single dish. Don't force it. That meat & potatoes dish... too much meat, not enough offset. A bit overwhelming. Finally, the outside seating - great spot. In town, but just enough off the beaten path to be cozy. The table & chairs are not comfortable, however.
From Amy Kuhns & Joshua Davis of Collegeville, PA (08/08/07)
We drove an hour to Doylestown in search of something new and different. We had the best time EVER. The food was out of this world, amazing, and the service was incredibly accomodating. Our server, Heather, was SO kind and made us feel so comfortable and so special. We had a fabulous bottle of my favorite pino noir and shared a bunch of appetizer plates. The calamari was AWESOME as were the scallops we had for our main entree. The timing was absolutely perfect, the ambiance was so beautiful and the decor was so warm and welcoming. We even got to meet the talented Chef and his beautiful wife, Amy. They were genuine and sincere and so down to earth. We were blown away by this place. We're coming back this weekend!
From Meg and John of Chalfont (07/24/07)
AMAZING! We went on the recommendation of some friends. The fuzion of unique ingredients and flavors leaves your mouth salavating for more. The calamari is fantastic and the risotto is out of this world. We opted to share 5 appitizers between the two of us so we could take advantage of trying many differnt things. It was plenty of food and a fabulous taste adventure. We cannot wait to return and try some of the other dishes and main plates.
From Harper & Ellen of Ambler (07/17/07)
Words will not do justice to the food and ambiance of this establishment. Seeing and eating are the key to true believing. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The food is delivered in eye popping arrays, portions are correct (as are the prices) and the fabulous flavors will tease and deliver. The funky lighting, rustic looks and warm colors of the interior are inviting for those cozy and engaging times and will not spoil the group good time either. As we had dined both ways. All we can say is "Honey, where ya been all my life"
From The Fork-One-One of BUX Culinary Society (07/03/07)
Where have you two been?..doesn't matter, thank goodness you're finally here, HONEY. 6/07 Owners Joe and Amy McAtee opened HONEY Restaurant in the heart of the borough. The restaurant's decor sings like a choir of interior design angels – one specific angel, Amy McAtee. The front and back of the house has complete synergy with its rounded corners and textured glass panels - even more sexy and curvy by candlelight. HONEY's distinctive menu delivers fresh local flavors. There are no "specials" per se, Chef McAtee’s culinary inspiration is evident and his menu is a flavorable reflection of his creativity. From small plates, to main plates to the infused freshly brewed green ginger iced tea, pomegranate ginger ale or a clearly cosmopolitan (clear cranberry juice). HONEY has every component of a perfect gastronomic equation. Pssst...the outside tables are the best seats in town for lunch. However, dine inside for a romantic dinner that may find the romantic part lingering well into your evening. Lunch 11:30-2:30 Tues-Sat Dinner from 5 Closed Sunday & Monday
From Jeff of Doylestown (06/23/07)
Outstanding! The ambiance is arguably the best in town and the food is unique, original and terrific. A sophisticated and urban dining experience right here in Doylestown.
From Dennis & Sheilagh of Doylestown Boro (06/23/07)
Amazing! Anyone with a developed palate will appreciate the excellent, creatively presented cuisine at this very upscale restaurant. Having eaten at many of the Boro restaurants, this one gets very high marks for presentation and creativity! Definitely a dining experience for the "foodie", or those who are a little adventurous.
From Maureen of Doylestown (06/22/07)
Kudos to Honey! Run- don't walk -to this new dining spot in Doylestown. You can save yourself a trip into Center City or Manhattan when you are in the mood for new innovative food that is well prepared with just the right blend of interesting flavor and combinations. The atmosphere and food presentation is fresh, innovative and sophisticated but on a low key comfortable level. The drink selections are limited but interesting and the Sangria is a must try. A very welcome addition to the local dining scene. Our server was pleasant and informative and the service and timing were great - especially given that they have only been open a few weeks. We were a party of four and all enjoyed Honey immensley.
